Field Notes

June 14, 2025 Thoughts And Memories

I don't always take the photo right away.

Sometimes I just stand there.

Mornings like this, with the light brushing the horses' backs, the barn still holding the night's cool, remind me that not all moments are made for chasing. Some are meant for watching.

This field isn't mine. But the way I show up here, quietly, early, respectfully, builds a kind of relationship with it.

I started Rack Photography to tell stories like these. Stories that don't ask for attention.but hold it once you pause long enough to feel them. Thank you for finding your way here. This is the first of many notes from the field.

Next, I'll share the story behind "Evening Watch" a print from my Quiet Pastures series, and what the calf in that frame taught me about waiting.

Have a quiet place that grounds you? I would love to hear about it. Message me or leave a comment!
